Custom Development

We are very sensitive to item analysis on written exams and seek policy-practice disconnects and conflicting policy situations during development.

Process and Components

We typically develop processes that include a written exam with a cut-score, followed by assessment exercises though an “in-box” type process and subsequent oral process.

Assessors

We recommend outside assessors with a rank one higher than being tested. We also recognize that some agencies have policy or labor agreements that frame assessor panels. Our experience is that an assessor consensus approach with anchored scales produce the best outcomes.

Coaching

Executive and leadership coaching is commonplace in private industry and Federal agencies. We believe that coaching can be a valuable developmental tool for law enforcement. We recognized that our industry does not have the financial resources of the private sector, but coaching can be a great tool.
